School trip blog

Monday 6th March

13.00hrs  - The Year 6 French Trip Group has arrived in France and are now spending some time at the Sea Life Centre before travelling on to the Chateau later in the day.

Tuesday 7th March

Arrived safely at the Chateau last night.  Everyone had a good night's sleep and a fantastic breakfast this morning.  They are off to Dieppe today and the Hypermarket this afternoon.

PM - Having lunch in brilliant sunshine 'Sur la plage' (on the beach) after an informative tour of Dieppe.  Kids are eating baguettes they made this morning.

Wednesday 8th March

Everyone has slept well again.  They will be doing Archery, Fencing and Climbing this morning and will be going to Rouen this afternoon.  The children are being very adventurous, trying new foods!

(Please note we are having trouble with internet and phone signals but are putting on what information we can obtain as soon as possible - Thank you).

Thursday 9th March

Up early today as they are going to the WW1 Somme Battlefields.  Unfortunately, the weather today is misty and drizzly. Everyone is having a lovely time.

Today they have been to the Museum at Albert which the children were very interested in and have enjoyed.  After which they have visited the WW1 Grave sites, the mood on the coach is much quieter as the children are reflecting on what they have seen.

PM - Beaumont Hamelin was treated with respect.  The children are beginning to realise the enormity of the carnage in the trenches.  Now off to pay our respects to Alfred Brookes (someone the children have been researching in class).

DON'T FORGET TO TAKE YOUR TELEPHONE TREE WITH YOU TOMORROW IN CASE THEY ARE DELAYED BACK FROM THE TRIP - THANK YOU.
